Crushed It

Oh, Fat Amy! How I love thee, let me count the ways?

Some day, maybe in my lifetime, we can say "Crushed it!" when we talk about the patriarchy. With all the confidence and pride Fat Amy exudes when she accomplishes her goals.

Feminism gets a bad reputation. Too often, feminists are seen as man-hating, whining victims. What feminism really stands for is equality and equity for all people. Feminism seeks to achieve that goal through social activism (i.e., raising awareness and education)  and political activism (i.e., protest, voting, petitioning government officials, etc.). Through that activism, it is possible to inspire and empower people to fight for social change.

I like using my writing skills as activism. That is my contribution to crushing the patriarchy.

Playing off the idea that all feminists are whining victims, I decided to title my blog "Twisted Knickers" because we always seem to have our "panties in a bunch." This blog is, in no part, directly affiliated with, nor trying to compete with, the Burlesque troupe or the folk art website.
